£4k+ for Beau Brown Fund

May 14th 2011 - Weybridge Male Voice Choir and Treble Clef Ladies' Choir joined forces in a concert in aid of the Beau Brown Fund. Beau is a local five-year old boy who has cerebral palsy and who is travelling to the USA for a life-changing operation.
A capacity audience, including the Mayor and Mayoress of Elmbridge, were entertained at the Catholic Church of Christ, Prince of Peace, Weybridge with a selection of items from each of the choirs' repertoire plus seven joint numbers. These included a dramatic arrangement of '1492' by Vangelis, for which the two choirs were joined by members of the Weyward Singers. Guest artist was popular mezzo soprano Liz Westaway.
Beau's grandmother spoke to the audience about Beau and his operation. Net proceeds from ticket sales plus the contents of a bucket collection (a generous £873), together totalled £4,250 .
Audience comment:
"... both Choirs were absolutely magnificent and we thoroughly enjoyed them. It set a standard for our little town that many would not believe existed."
